Jan Flessel, born 1982 in Halle/Saale, is a Composer, Videographer and Media Artist based in Copenhagen-Denmark. His works range from orchestral and chamber music, with and without electronics, to electronic music as well as music and sound design for computer games.

He studied Composition with Peter Manfred Wolf, Georg Friedrich Haas and Simon Steen-Andersen in Rostock, Basel and Aarhus. He also studied Game Design in Copenhagen.

His pieces have been performed, among others at: International Summer Course for New Music Darmstadt, ECCO Concert @Espace Senghor Brussel, New Music Miami, Jazzhus Montmartre, Stockholm Chamber Brass Academy, Orchester-Academy Halberstadt, “Brücken”- Festival for New Music Rostock, Young Nordic Music Festival Reykjavik, Panorama Festival Aarhus, Nonclassical @Limewharf London, Music-Academy Basel

His work as a filmmaker revolves around documentaries, portraits, music videos, music montages, and social media content. He has created films for various artists, including Mathilde Falch, The Philharmonic Brass, Scandinavian Cello School, Justine Boesen, Kira Martini, and Fiolministeriet.

In collaboration with SCS Consultancy, he plays a key role in producing the online series "The Musical Farm," offering an insight into the life and evolution of the Scandinavian Cello School. Additionally, they work on artist portraits featuring emerging young classical musicians in the series "Sound of the Future."
